Mugdock Country Park Summer Band Stand Concert
Our String Orchestra, Wind Ensemble and Concert Orchestra
played a great concert in the Band Stand at Mugdock Country Park
on Sunday 19th June. Despite the rain, a grand total of £150 was
raised on the day for the Musicares Foundation in Sri Lanka, a
charity with which Nicole, our helper from last year, went to work.
Well done ! For more information about the charity have a look

25th March Easter Concert
We had a very successful Easter Concert at Bearsden Burgh Hall. The String Orchestra played very well with all their pieces and in particular Wild Mountain Thyme sounding great. The Wind Ensemble entertained us all and played among other things a great piece called "Secret Agent Man". The second half began with the Concert Orchestra who played very well and in particular the Peer Gynt Suite was a big favourite with the audience. And to round a great evening off, the Symphony Orchestra played magnificently with their West Side Story a particular favourite !
We held a fundraising raffle on the evening and we would like to thank Provost Gotts for helping to draw the raffle. We had donations from McCormacks Music Shop, Allander Sports Centre, Bearsden Golf Driving Range and the golf professional Bob Collinson as well as parents so grateful thanks to all involved.
Gartmore House Symphony Orchestra Weekend 17th-19th September
The Symphony Orchestra enjoyed a weekend away at Gartmore
House near Aberfoyle on the weekend of 17th - 19th September.
This was a chance for them to work through some of the music for
this year and they presented their progress so far at a small
concert to round off the weekend.
This trip was supported by grants from East
Dunbartonshire Community Grant Scheme, the
Robertson Trust and Making Music Scotland.
Our thanks to all of them.
