Welcome to the January/March Term

Christmas Concert

Our Christmas Concert was a great success and was extremely well attended. Well done to our musicians and thanks to all those who gave their support on the evening.

A warm welcome to all new members. We hope you will enjoy many years of fun and good music at BMYO, which is administered by a small, informal committee of parents. The orchestra has been running for over 30 years and is a recognised Scottish Charity.

Welcome to Jenny Wilson, our new Webmaster. If any members of the orchestra have ideas about how they would like the new website to look, or its content, then have a word with a committee member.

Orchestra Times

We meet at Douglas Academy, Milngavie, on Thursday evenings at the following times :

7.00 – 8.00 pm	String Orchestra	Conductor Marj Partridge (waiting list now in place)
7.00 – 8.30 pm	Wind Band	Conductor John Paul O’Hagan
7.00 – 8.30 pm	Junior Orchestra	Conductor Mary-Lou Graham
7.00 – 8.30 pm	Senior Orchestra	Conductor Alan Pash

Subscriptions

Please pay your fees for the second term if you have not already paid for the full year. Speak to Kate Crooks if you are unsure – the cost is £20 per term for the first child and £15 for subsequent children in a family.

Cheques are payable to Bearsden and Milngavie Youth Orchestra and please write your child’s name and orchestra name on the back.

Duties

Thanks to all parents for your valued and continuing support throughout the year, and for ensuring a safe and friendly environment for our children.

A new rota list has recently been circulated.

Please make a note in your diary if you have been given a date; if you have any problem or need to change your duty please contact Lorna Laming on 955 1655.

Easter Concert

This will be held on Friday 27 March 2009 at Bearsden Burgh Hall. The final rehearsal will be on Thursday 26 March at Douglas Academy

NAYO Concert (Senior Orchestra)

This year’s concert will be held on Sunday 6 September at the RSAMD (lunchtime). Rehearsal will take place on Saturday 5 September.
