Waiting List
There is now a waiting list in place for the String Orchestra.
Subscriptions
Please pay your fees if you have not already done so. If unsure, ask for details (£25 per term or £25 + £15 for subsequent children.)
Code of Conduct
Although BMYO is run as a friendly, informal group it nevertheless has to adhere to health and safety guidelines and school regulations at all times. Accordingly, there can be no running or fooling around. Please remind your children to respect the school and its property. All children should be collected promptly or, in the case of children waiting for older siblings to finish, they should be supervised by a parent. Younger children must be collected from inside the building, since the current car parking is some distance from the entrance.
Parent Rota
Please arrive by 6.40pm if you are on duty to: set up music stands (and take down afterwards), put out chairs and, most importantly, help supervise for the duration of the rehearsal to ensure compliance with the code of conduct and general well-being of the children. Please make a note of your duty evening in your diary; the orchestra cannot operate without sufficient adult supervision. It is your responsibility to swap with another parent if you are unable to do a duty. If you are unsure of your duty dates, check with Parent Rota Secretary – Ramsay Shields, Tel. 577 9171..
Insurance
Please insure your instruments! BMYO carries public liability insurance but this does not extend to members’ personal effects. We strongly advise you to insure your children’s instruments. There is always a chance of accidental damage when a large number of children are gathered together.
New Year
Rehearsals will start again after the holidays on Thursday 7 January 2010. The date for the Easter Concert is Friday 26 March 2010.

An Invitation to Instrumental Teachers
We would like to invite you to the forthcoming concert by the Bearsden and Milngavie Youth Orchestra. At least one of your pupils is in the orchestra and we would therefore like to extend this invitation to you. This is by way of thanks for the splendid work done by instrumental teachers, from which we benefit. We very much hope that you will be able to come. Please treat this letter as a complimentary ticket.
RSVP: If you would like to attend, we should be grateful if you could let us know by 23/11/2009 by calling Ian Allan – Tel. 0141 955 9054.
