Wind Ensemble
The Wind Ensemble is for beginners up to Grade 2/3 wind instruments.
Conductor - Michelle McCabe.
Michelle McCabe studied at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, graduating with a BA (Hons) and a PGCertificate (Orchestral Studies), then went on to study Chamber Music with Samuel Baron in Canada at The Banff Centre for the Arts, with her award winning Quartet, Just Flutes.
Michelle is currently Sub Principal Flute in Scottish
Ballet's production of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker and also
performs regularly with other professional orchestras and
chamber ensembles. Michelle teaches flute at The High
School of Glasgow where she also directs The Wind Band
(p7-3rd yr pupils) Other educational work includes leading
music workshops for Artlink Central, who take live music to
disadvantaged or disabled children, and coaching on the
flute summer school Tutti Flutey.
Michelle is hoping to keep the Wind Ensemble playing a varied and fun programme
of music.
The Wind Ensemble performed at the end of November 2009 at Princes Square in Glasgow. Well done to all the players for a wonderful performance which was enjoyed by all the Christmas shoppers ! Here are some pictures from Princes Square :
